How to consign?
Spring consignment acceptance begins February 1st
Summer consignment acceptance begins March 1st
Fall consignment acceptance begins August 1st
Winter consignment acceptance begins September 1st
How it works:
Bring your freshly laundered items during business hours. No appointment is necessary. Our staff will preview your items for consignment as you browse our store. Items we choose to present are tagged and priced by Smartypants and are on the floor approx. 90 days. As they sell, you receive 50% of the selling price. After the consignment term has expired, items under $20 will become property of Smartypants. Items originally priced over $20 may be retrieved by you within 7 days. Your account will accumulate as items are sold. Accounts may be checked either by phone or in-person and payouts are made upon request. Consigned credit may be used at any time.
What we sell:
-Children's clothing and shoes: newborn through teens
-Maternity
-Baby furniture and baby gear, equipment
-Juniors: we accept Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aeropostle, Hollister and like brands. No department store brands accepted.
-Misses not accepted at this time
Items should be:
-Like-new to excellent condition
-In current styles (purchased within last 3 years)
-Freshly laundered and pressed (wrinkle-free)
-In season
-Presented on hangers. Exception: Jeans may be laid flat in plastic bin or laundry basket.
NO trash bags please.
We do not consign:
-Styles that are out of date, even if in excellent condition.
-Items that cannot be priced over $2-
-Pre-worn undergarments or socks
-Stained or soiled items
-Pilled fabrics, items missing button, broken zipper, etc.
-Stuffed animals or small toys of any kind
-Items with the tags cut out
Tips for consigning:
-Pressed items sell faster and for more money. Spend the extra time. It will be worth your while.
-View clothing in adequate lighting to check for stains.
-Wipe shoes/polish off prior to consigning. Buckle, tie or fasten. Super clean shoes sell the best.
-Ensure 2 piece outfits are the same size.
